  1. Hey ok so I got all my parts for my new PC and I'm pretty sure I installed the motherboard right but my video card is too long to fit in the video card slot.

    My Motherboard

    My computer case
    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-156-018&depa=0

    My video card
    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-102-286&depa=0

It seems that it is too long to fit properly in the first slot especially for the video card. Any suggestions? This is the first time I have done this..

    Thanks
    Tim

Looks like the MB you bought is PCI-E....
I do not see an AGP slot so the video card you bought will not work...

Yes, it uses PCI-E instead of AGP. Here's a page from NewEgg with cards similar to the one you have, but for PCI-E. Maybe they will let you trade?

Don't feel so bad. I bought a PCI-E card, thinking it was AGP.

BTW, PCI-E is much faster and probably the replacement for AGP.
Good luck with your new system.

Yeah, the mid-grade cards rule supreme. Either the 6600 or the X600 are the way to go with your PCI-E system.

  9. well thanks for cheering me up guys!!
Just a quick question. If I purchase this card will I be able to convert the svideo output to component video output??

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-150-077&depa=0

I'm pretty sure I can, but I want to make sure. Also, is this a good brand and a good card?? Is the 6600GT worth more money. I don't really plan on playing a lot of games but I do a lot of video editing and I plan to output video from my PC to my big screen.

    Thanks a lot

Component or composite? You have to get a card that has a DVI to component adapter. I think some of the newer ones have that capability, just check their specs or list of parts included for that.
