Hey ok so I got all my parts for my new PC and I'm pretty sure I installed the motherboard right but my video card is too long to fit in the video card slot.
My Motherboard

My video card

It seems that it is too long to fit properly in the first slot especially for the video card. Any suggestions? This is the first time I have done this..
Thanks
Tim

Yes, it uses PCI-E instead of AGP. Here's a page from NewEgg with cards similar to the one you have, but for PCI-E. Maybe they will let you trade?

yeah thanks a lot guys. I'm a fool. I should have done a little more research.

Don't feel so bad. I bought a PCI-E card, thinking it was AGP.
BTW, PCI-E is much faster and probably the replacement for AGP.
Good luck with your new system. -
you are better off getting a 6600gt anyways
cheaper and better

well thanks for cheering me up guys!!
Just a quick question. If I purchase this card will I be able to convert the svideo output to component video output??

I'm pretty sure I can, but I want to make sure. Also, is this a good brand and a good card?? Is the 6600GT worth more money. I don't really plan on playing a lot of games but I do a lot of video editing and I plan to output video from my PC to my big screen.
Thanks a lot

Component or composite? You have to get a card that has a DVI to component adapter. I think some of the newer ones have that capability, just check their specs or list of parts included for that.

i was thinkin composite. whoops. but anyways. you use the dvi out
