  2. I recently did a fresh re-install of XP and updated to SP2.

However along side this, I lost the ability to burn any of my old 2x DVD-R with a Pioneer 106 or a LiteOn SOHW 1213S.

Thinking that this was an SP2 conflict with Nero 5.5, I upgraded to 6 and updated to the latest version from the site.

I also updated TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 to version 1.5.26.7.

It didn't cure the 2x issue, but the DVD burner in TMPGEnc DVD Author does not recognise any DVD burner.

Is this a conflict between TDA and Nero 6; or has Nero 6/SP2 just messed up my PC?

  3. Another case of SP2 royally messing up an otherwise good computer.
There's supposedly a workaround, if you get the FULL sp2 package in the Administrator's section of windowsupdate, and not the standard one.
I have no idea if it works, and I'm staying away from SP2 completely!

  4. I may just reinstall back to the previous version of XP, but I have to admit that the Black Screen Bug with the ADVC-50 seems to have been cured with SP2.

...and I'm staying away from SP2 completely!
    I wish I had.

edit: Uninstalled SP2 and then uninstalled/reinstalled TDA.
The DVD burners are now back in TDA
