  1. I have a few DVDs that have a combined birate of over 9800kb/s. Therefore, none of them would play properly in my DVD player.

Is there a way to re-encode the DVDs at a lower bit rate? I do not want to encode to mpegs, and then back to DVDs.

    THanks

It should not be a problem with the burner or the media because I have plenty of Benq DVD backups, and they play fine in my KOSS dvd player.

Do you know anything that could be causing this weird problem??

PS...Transfer speed test shows a PERFECTLY smooth speed curve, so the burn quality is good. The discs work fine in my computer.

  6. Tried again today with a Verbtaim DVD-R, same problem.

I'm sick and tired of dealing with all this, I may just use my laptop as my playback tool. Or I may even build a HTPC
