  1. Hi, i just bought the liscense to the DVD2SVCD software. I had to wait 2 days before posting here, which was ******* gay by the way, and here i am.

I have a couple of questions however. I have a whole bunch of files that will only fit on a Dual Layer DVD, the ones with 8.5 GB. I happen to be a lucky guy with a Dual Layer DVD burner and Dual Layer DVD's . Is it possible to burn on a dual layer DVD with DVD2SVCD?

Another question, when DVD2SVCD authored the entire DVD to a folder on the HD, can i just drag and drop the files on the DVD with, for example, Nero?

Yet another question, i created all SVCD-compliant files. When i use the "don't change audio rate" function, does SVCD2DVD 1.5 leave my files alone ie don't re-encode them? Also, how long would a full DVD with 5 SVCD files take to author on a P4 1.7 GHZ machine with 512 MB ram?

Last question, DVD2SVCD 2.0b is really cool, but a little too beta-ish for me. I really like the audio for menu option though. Can i also do this with the menu option for DVD2SVCD 1.5?

    Thanks

    -Dick

    Those are the rules.

SVCD2DVD v1.5 uses CopyToDVD to burn. If CopyToDVD can do dual-layer you're in business i suspect. v2 has 3 burn options..... Bottom line - give it a try.

Well in any burning app you chose you have to create a "DVD-Video". If you have Nero, NeroBurner would be a good choice. ( https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222190 )

    It leaves the audio unchanged.

No idea. Whatever it is, v2 will do it in less than half the time

This is not available in v1.5. Only v2.

Just wondering if you used copytodvd to burn DL media and how the outcome was?

  6. Yep. Copytodvd. It works great. I can also play the disk on my JVC standalone player (from 2001).

Just used it as well, worked fine. I've used an older version of copytodvd for 2yrs now. The only thing that I don't like about the new version is all the popup menus (create photo/dvd/cd/etc), would like if that could be disabled and just the progrma itself would appear and there you can choose which option like in 2.0xxx
