  1. I have captured an avi from d/v via Win DV which plays fine through WMP. When I try to encode it using Tmpgenc or Ulead it has horizontal interacing which is really noticable during any motion on screen. I checked the avi file with GSpot and under the Stream Type and A/V interleave box it says Type:Open DMV avi IMRR:n.s. I/L not supported. Is this the root of my problem.
I tried encoding it and burnt it to DVD but the lines are still visible.
    Any ideas folk?
    Thanks

Just encode as interlaced and it should playback fine on a standalone player. For PC and other progressive displays it will need to be de-interlaced during playback, same as other interlaced sources.

Other option is to de-interlace before encoding, by say frameserving via AVISynth to TMPGEnc.

  4. I have encoded it as interlaced with TMPGEnc but yet the lines are still there when I play back the dvd to TV. I may try the other method, but it used to work fine. I'm stumped.
