  1. everyonce in a while... I will get a disc that freezes ore glitches or skips back to an earlier chapter during playback. I can take that disc, re-backup the data from the BURNED dvd... and create a working copy from it... any idea what might cause this?

    Hello,

Probably a bad blank. Try taiyo yuden media - MADE IN JAPAN discs by Fujifilm or Memorex.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. memorex has been nothing but problems... 95% of them turn into frisbees with ym equipment... TDK seems to treat me VERY well...

  4. The burner/firmware could be holding you back as well, update your profile with your computer specs - burner, etc.

  5. see... that is not the issue... as nothing has changed... and it is les than 1% of burned discs... it just happens from time to time...were it a firmware or hardware issue, it would be a consistent problem...

    Make up your mind....

see.........it MAY well be an issue......your present burner/firmware may not work well with the Memorex media, check the media code with DVDInfoPro and tell us what the discs are. And UPDATE YOUR PROFILE WITH YOUR BURNER MODEL.

  7. but I am not using memorex... I am using TDK... and 99% of the discs I burn work fine... it is a rare event, but sometimes, just sometimes... the disc will glitch... using the TDK which works fine in all other instances... I don't change brands, or even specific models... I use the same kind every time...

  9. steve. I am sorry that you find my method of communication annoying. If that is the case, perhaps you should go read another thread. At this point, I have gotten the answers I need and will not longer be bothering as this is already devolving into sophomoric behavior.

  10. AS I'VE SAID ABOUT 4 TIMES NOW, IF YOU WOULD SIMPLY LIST YOUR BURNER MODEL YOU COULD ACTUALLY GET SOMEWHERE. YOU STILL SEEM INCAPABLE OF STATING YOUR BURNER IN EITHER THE THREAD OR IN YOUR PROFILE. IT IS HARD TO HELP SOMEONE WHEN THEY IGNORE YOU. I TRIED TO HELP YOU, I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT UPDATING YOUR FIRMWARE CAN OFTEN SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS WITH BAD BURNS. IT COULD BE BAD DISCS, IT COULD BE BAD BURNS FROM A BAD BURNER/FIRMWARE COMBINATION.

YOU REFUSE TO LIST THE MEDIA CODE OR YOUR BURNER, SO IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO HELP YOU, I DON'T HAVE PSYCHIC POWERS.

  11. As I stated once (since we are counting), I have recieved a satisfactory answer - in the first response. "Probably a bad blank." That was the response I needed, as it confirmed my suspicion.

To satisfy your curiosity, the reason I am not listing the information you requested is because I have 4 diferent configurations in the office, and they all have done it at one time or another. Different firm ware, different burners. The disc, when it won't play, simply has to be backed up again (from the copy) and re-burned... it is no big deal, just cusiosity.

Now, as I stated previously, "At this point, I have gotten the answers I need and will not longer be bothering as this is already devolving into sophomoric behavior." Thank you for your time, but just leave it be.
