I am trying to run an MPEG2 file through VirtualDubMPEG2 using the MSU deblocking filter to, obviously, reduce blockiness. VirtualDub crashed with an "out of range" error in the MSU deblocking module.
Am I going about this the right way? Is there a way to filter an mpeg2 file in VirtualDubMPEG2? What compression should I use if I want to eventually get back to an MPEG2 file after deblocking?
Thanks.

Are you using version 2 of the MSU deblocking filter? It was just released. Might work better.
You shouldn't save the result at all. Frame serve to your MPEG2 encoder instead. -
I never had this problem with this filter (I use it always with my mpeg 2 DVB sources)
Of course, I frameserve to TMPGenc plus to encode.
