  1. Are there any other registry entries that can be made to tweak the AVI encoding, I've already tried the one for deciding when to switch to half-D1(which seems to work best with a cut off point of 3500kbits), are there entries for min/max bitrates when using 2-pass encoding(so I can guarantee the bitrate doesnt drop below a certain level during vbr, ie 1000-9000kbps), using more than two passes, or using custom resolutions(svcd or 352x240) etc.?

At the moment no there isn't but i may well add an "advanced" config screen for people like yourself.

My issue with all of this is that i have tried to make the avi to dvd process easy and accessable to the average person. I feel that if you want a high level of control over the process then there are a mass of great tools out there which allow such tweaking. That said i want my tool to be good so i will be adding more to it over time but like i say it may well be in "expert mode"....

  3. cheers chrissy, look forward to a more "advanced" version in the future. Main requests would be more than 2-pass encoding and 352x240 resolution (i have tons of old Avi TV episodes in this resolution!)
