    hi!
I'm using directShow, and I was wondering what was the simplest way to create a movie file from successive bitmaps?

  2. There are tons of programs to be found in the web for this purpose. Some of them also with source code. What exactly do you want to do? Just convert a bunch of images to a movie, or create an own program for a special purpose?

There is an app that someone (casual user) developed and used for this
very reason, (and his project) and I think he included the source code to
go with it. I know I D/L 'ed it somewhere's and I forgot the name, but I
think it's called, BMP to AVI or something.
    .
It actually works. It takes a BMP or group of bmp images and makes an
actual avi file that you can play.
    .
.. For grouping bmp's, your best to keep the file names indexed as in
    .. bmp-01; bmp-02; bmp-03 ...

A google search should turn up something in a matter of seconds.
