Here's a list from Cnet. Hope you have a lot of money for the upper end cards.

    ATI is way better!!!

No... actually I've seen some write-ups on some new NVIDIA cards that are just super sweet. You can actually tie two of them together. I can't remember the specifics though. Sorry.

  6. Best combo would be an Asus A8N-SLi Deluxe coupled with two XFX GeForce 6800 Ultras (PVT45FUD). The motherboard comes with an SLi connection - no need to worry about that.

It'll be a snip at almost £1000 for the three items, but guaranteed you'll have one of the quickest gaming machines in the world.

    Well, you did ask!

Notice the power connector. Does your Power Supply have enough juice to run the thing ?

AGP i just noticed when i click on soop's link. uhhh, if you are going to spend that much money on the vid card u should upgrade your mobo to pci-x. you're really not getting full performance out of agp with that type of card.

a gaming bud just got a 6600GT a couple weeks ago... upped his 3DMark score by three fold.... For gaming, your CPU should be fine, a lot of the stress is in the graphics. About a gig of RAM would be helpful too.

Make sure you have at least a 350watt power supply for that 6800 - they require that extra UMPHH! from the juice box.

In the upper scale of the video cards, comparing nVidia and ATI is like arguing which is better - BMW or Mercedes....

I think TomsHardware.com had a comparison on the cards not too long ago and there is an ATI based card that outdid the 6800ultra - but only if you're willing to shell out $900 US dollars for it.....

you can buy an msi pci-x board for $169 or that asus for $240 off of newegg. im just tryin to say if you are going to drop that type of money on a vid card dont waste your money on agp. if you are going to stick with agp for now drop $150 on a card that will get you by for a good while

well, to make it the fastest gaming machine, add on a Athlon64 FX-55 CPU with an additional £500-£600 to the cost
