Hi, this is just a quick fix to my problems, as I plan to get another encoder rather than what I have now (DVD Movie Factory 2.0), but some of the files on my computer wouldn't open in DVD MF. It would say that the files "contains no video data." I was confused at first, b/c they were mpeg or mpgs, but Gspot said the stream type was "OpenDML AVI" which I guess DVD MF can't read. So I've used Virtualdub to save these files as an AVI, which makes them readable in MF. BUT, everytime I preview the new video in MF, the video and audio are choppy and out of sync- as if it keeps on getting stuck. When I just play the new AVI back in Windows Media Player, it might start off this way the first time I open it, but then it's fine. So is this problem going to be transferred to the DVD if I burn it? Don't have any RWs on me to find out. Or is it just an issue with playback in MF? Again, just a quick fix question and more curious than anything. The real solution will probably be to use an encoder that recognizes OpenDML so I don't have to do this extra conversion. Thanks.

Ok, not sure what happened, but the AVI created by Virtual Dub still reads as an OpenDML AVI, so maybe it was something else that kept it from being read by MF. If anybody reads this, I went ahead and burned a 5 min clip to a Memorex CMC disk (been looking for ways to get rid of those), and it played and sounded fine. In fact, it look better than most of the VHS captures I've burned. Not sure why it wouldn't play back right in the MF Preview mode, but the end product's all that matters...
