  1. I did a search and didnt come up with much. I'm on my 4th attempt at encoding/authoring/ burning and I have yet to watch a DVD. I would like to know if I can start erasing some of these RW's. I tried to erase in Nero, but I get an error message about the media not being removable.
I'm using memorex blanks and I know they're crap,.. should I just dump them??

    Try erasing them in decryptor.
It's freeware and worth a shot

  4. DVDInfopro has several formatting options for RWs. I use the pay version, but the free version SHOULD work. Sometimes I've had trouble opening the free version.

    Haven't tried decryptor.

I've been using Memorex +RW for a little over a year and all I do is record over the existing file. Using Nero, it gives a message that the disk contains info, "do you want to continue with operation?" -something to that effect. The disks works just fine.

I've actually had more problems when I tried to erase the disk, usually ended up rendering it unusable (coaster)

    Hope this helps

  6. I use Memorex +RW. No problems. Why do you need to erase them before overwriting?

Whenever I want to burn over a +RW with something on it, my burning apps, DVDecrypter or Ulead DVD MF, asks if I want to overwrite the existing data.

I never have to do a separate erase step before reusing.

  7. I did not know you could just overwrite the disk.
Wouldn't that be asking for trouble?? Is this media good to use ??? I just made my 1st DVD Movie that worked perfectly on my Toshiba DVD player that supposedly,....doesnt play DVD+RW's.
One thing I did notice,..the authored DVD's play on my stand alone DVD Player,.. but when I try to play them on my pc,.. the video stutters.
    Is it a codec problem??
I think I better post this in the proper forum before I get I repromanded
And what forum would that be???
