Native Capacity: 4.7 GB / 120 Minutes Video
    Format: DVD-R -General Purpose (8x)

Both the ones you have listed and the White Printable, can be printed on with certain Printers.
You can also get the TY's at

I too have started using TYs. I was using the Prodisc 8X white hub printables, but switched to the TYs because there have been too many problems with the white printable Prodiscs.

The hub printables will allow you to print all the way to the small "open" circle in the middle of the discs. Those are the ones I use from TY - they're more expensive (around .68 from rima.com), but they're certainly worth it.

The white inkjet discs will allow you to use an inkjet printer (like the Epson R200) which has the capability to print on a CD/DVD - they come out looking like the regular retail movies. The silver thermals are for thermal printers - I don't recommend printing on them with an inkjet printer. Rima.com has the best prices and reputation. Hope that helps, good luck!

  4. "buying a 15 pack Of Maxel -R "

Doesn't mean they are TY. I got some too, 8x, turned out to be Hitachi, even though it said made in japan.

The discs that you got have the MXL media code which is equivalent to TY. No need to worry about it.

  7. Is there anywhere I could get a test pack of TY? I would hate to buy a 50 pack and not have them work properly.

DVD Identifier is also good. Nero CDDVDSpeed - www.cdspeed2000.com - will also work.

www.rima.com sells sample packs (combo of different media they sell). Supermedia may also offer sample packs.
