  4. I have the exact same problem. I downloaded 2 AVI files and used Nero 5.5 to burn two separate VCDs.

The sound on both VCDs is out of sync with the video. I tried two different VCD palyers and have the same
problem. The original AVI files are in perfect sync.

I just got started with this crazy obsession this past weekend, so I am a true novice.

I also have two AVIs that immediately after downloading (no burning or converting yet) have video trouble.
Using Windows Media Player, they both play audio in a "tinny" sound with no picture.

I tried changing my monitor resolution and color settings, but no luck.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  5. phawkcpa, did you use Nero to encode AVI ? or did you use a real encoder ? it all depends on that small little detail, of who and how.

I have found using nero that if I burn at max speed, 16x, I somtimes have sync and even video break up, since I started lmiting my burning to 8x I have had neither problem for over 6mo and 50 movies. Maybe it will work for you.
