    I know it may sounds silly but is it possible to back up DVDs that are in color (poor color, that's why) to DVD-R in Black and White? I've got DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter but both these freewares can't do it. Any help will be appreciated

    It would have to be ripped, demuxed, re-encoded, and re-authored before burning.

    Can be done--Is it worth it?
    Gain by efficiency of B/W encoding would probably be offset by loss from addition encoding generation.

    Why don't you just turn down the Color Saturation knob on your monitor temporarily?

    why not just adjust your TV's color setting to B&W while watching that video?
