Got an AIW 9600, a VCR, and TBC-1000. I'm trying to figure out what cables I need to connect all of this together so I can go VCR -> TBC -> C.Card. I will be using S-Video.

Now, I know I need 2 S-Video Cables to go from VCR to TBC and then TBC to C.Card. Do I also need 2 sets of RCA Stereo cables to do the same for my audio signal? Or do you even need to pass the audio through the TBC (ie can you skip the TBC and go straight to the cap card)?

One other thing: how short should my cables be? I ask because I wonder if the audio/video will degrade if they are too long.

    Thanks!

You can connect the audio straight from the VCR to the Capture Card; the TBC-1000 only buffers the audio for multiple outputs.

Standard cable lengths should be fine; 3 feet or less I guess?

    Gotcha.

3 feet is what I was looking for anyway, but am having some trouble finding inexpensive (yet premium) s-video cables at that length.

Any good cable sites out there I should try (i'm looking at http://www.ramelectronics.net/ and http://www.cablewholesale.com/ )?

Use 3 foot for VCR to TBC and 3 foot for TBC to Capture Card. That's for the video of course.

For audio use 6 foot straight from VCR to Capture Card/Sound Card.
