  1. Hi

I'm trying to backup a DVD to DVD+R with Intervideo DVDCopy 3. If I choose the "Main movie" the required space (if I don't choose "Fit to One Disc") is 5.1 GB. If I choose to remove some audio tracks and subtitles, the required space is still 5.1 GB.

Why is that? I've tried DVD Shrink as well and here I'm able to se how deselction of audi and subtitles affects the compression ratio?

I'm I doing something wrong in DVDCopy?

    Thanks!

    Alex

Hi and welcome to the forums, enjoy your stay

are you selecting fit to disc again? It will stay at 5.1Gb because DVDCopy3 is very poor and slow to use in its GUI workings. It doesn't show the sizes of the audio you are removing nor does it show the language. On a DVD with many audio tracks it makes it difficult to decide which to remove.

I could make a list of DVDcopy3 and how crap it it to use it but I won't

you are doing nothing wrong and I would sack whoever approved that design and working of DVDcopy3

    very poor

  3. Hi MackemX

    Hmmmm

I decided to try the program because of this quality test:

    http://dvd.box.sk/articles8.php

    Is it (the test) unreliable?

What program can You advice me to use?

forget that test, it's far too out of date using very old versions that now give the wrong impression

have you tried DVDShrink fully, exploring the various quality settings? It should be fine for most movie-only DVD's, though that depends on what your quality standards are
