I am going crazy because I cannot find replacements for these anywhere. The company pulled up stakes in the US and they are only located in Germany now.

I even contacted the parent company in Germany, and spoke to the technician in German! Still no results.

I guess the only hope I have of reviving these is if someone wants to sell me a 628 with a working power supply...like if theirs is not working, but does power on, etc.

    HELP!

I have also learned that there is a clone of the Yamakawa 628 manufactured by Califone, a US company that primarily serves schools. Their model DV-400 is equivalent to the 628. However, they did not want to fix anything that was not theirs, nor sell me just the power supply.

There are no markings on the power suppy itself? I'm sure it was made by someone other than Yamakawa and was used in more units than just two.

I'm afraid that the PCB is clean -- no manufacturer markings that I can make out. I do know that the manufacturer is actually SysBay International of Hong Kong, but like the rest, they wre not helpful also.

    Thanks for the reply.

I think that almost any PS for a computer could be modified to fix the machines. Or, find the schematics and fix the PS yourself.

What did you do, buy that junk on eBay?
