  1. I am new to this converting thing. I've got an X-Vid movie that I want to play on a DVD Player which supports SVCDs. Therefore, I want to make my X-Vid movie a SVCD. What do I need and what is the time required for converting it? I've tried Nero and waited about 3 hours only to get an error after it was done with some pre-burning. Any help MUCH appreciated.

Look at the Guides section to the left. Also do a search for xvid to svcd.

it will take about this long | | to convert ...

you will need a program like tmpgenc or the film machine or along those lines and you will need to read some guides also first ...

  4. THanks for the help guys..Im converting it right now. I have one more quick question. After this becomes an MPEG (SVCD) - do I have to wait another 3 hours to burn it with Nero? If so, is there any other burning programs I could use to eliminate that problem?

  6. once its mpeg format, just run Nero, click create cd, then kill the wizard. On your left you will be able to scroll down to Super Vcd or Super CD. click on that and then add your file by dragging it to the left. Then just click burn icon and go.

your burn time depends on the speed of your writer, i.e. 2x 4x, etc. it won't be anywhere close to 3hrs, more like 15 minutes for 30 minutes of video at 2x.

CD burners still burn at 2X/4X ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
