  1. system specs.

    sempron 2400+
    128 ddr pc2700 soon 256mb
    40 gid hd
    32mb shared onboard video.

i havent gotten my newstick of 128 yet but i keep on getting a low virtual memory or something.

i was wondering if this message will go away when i add another stick to my system??

this will leave my total available memory to 224 mb of ram that free is that enough??

It should be, but you are really doing your PC a dis-service by having less than 512MB...
Your base? Well, they belong to me now...

If you presently have 128MB minus the 32MB your video card uses, I don't doubt you will have problems with XP. If you can afford more memory, much better. I like 512, but you may be able to get away with less.

Virtual memory is when you run out of system memory and the computer uses the harddrive for temporary storage, thus slowing the system down. With virtual memory if you have a small HD or it needs defragging, even slower.

I didn't mean just for ripping and burning things, but just for your entire operating system in general. Memory is so cheap nowadays too, there really isn't any reason to have less 512MB...

You are so way off base.

Both my computers are used for a number of things, and they do them well.

    Computer 1 - 384MB
    Computer 2 - 256MB

You do not need to have 512
