    How Can Avi, and other files, be reencoded to MPEG2 files so I can burn
    them ? Any help would be awesome.

    The AVI format was invented specifically to piss you off. It seems
    to have been sucessful.
    Why don't you get an MPEG2 encoder and use that to encode your
    AVI. There are lots of them.
