  1. Hey i've just downloaded a movie and i've tried using tmpgenc to convert from avi to mpg2 format. The problem is, when the movie starts to encode the picture scrambles, gets blocky. At first I just thought it was tmpenc doing it and once finished encoding, the mpeg would be as the original source, which is fine, but it wasn't. I've used tmpgenc lots of times before and never had this problem. I followed this guide to convert and like i said all my other conversions have been fine. Anybody have any suggestions?

The AVI might be corrupted. Run the avi through DivFix and reindex it.

  3. I've run the avi through divfix and no errors. I've watched the movie on my pc too, so I know the avi is fine. Any other suggestions?

Post a screenshot of what GSpot or AVICodec tells you.
    If in doubt, Google it.
