  1. I'm trying to understand DVDRebuilder. So far, I can say quality is very good, better than transcoders for long movies and series' DVDs. I'm trying to backup the first season of Smallville. As long as I have noticed, this DVD is hard telecined, ie, it's interlaced but has FILM pattern (DVD2AVI tells it is NTSC, not FILM). I'd like to do a IVTC by adding some lines in avs scripts (telecide, decimate...). Now, I wanna know how can I tell to DVDRebuilder that I converted fps from 29.97 to 23.976 and that I want a pulldown to telecine it again.
I've done that to improve quality.
Reading rebuilder.inf file, i've noticed interessing things like pulldown = 0, that I think I'd have to change to 1. What about frame_rate_code = 1? What do I have to do with it?
    Thanks in advance.

if the source is NTSC - as what you say ... what you are trying to do is ruining quality, not improving it ....

doing ITVC to a non film source is a total waste of time and destroys the quality ...

and unless you used some very expensive tools (to interpolate) - it will not flow smoothly either ....

The point is that DVD is telecined, but not by a pulldown process. It was hard telecined, ie, frames (fields) were inserted to convert from film (23.976) to NTSC (29.97) standard. My idea is doind a IVTC (by Avisynth plugins), converting at 23.976 fps and doing a 3:2 pulldown on it. So, I reduce the number of frames to be encoded and quality becomes better. I've done this and I can tell you that the quality is really better. The problem is DVDRebuilder "don't know" I did this and video and audio became out of sync.
    I hope you understand me.
