Hi
I have been thinking about purchasing DVDRebuilder PRO.
I have been using DVD shrink for a long time, and have not been disappointed.
However, I may have access to CCE SP through a friend's computer, so I was wondering about some of the features that DVDRebuilder offers.
The most important feature I would like to carry over from DVD shrink is the ability to backup in ISO image format. This has proved to be the most reliable way to burn DVD backups - I have been using Imgburn without a hitch.
Any help with this and what other features DVDRebuilder offers over shrink would be appreciated.![]()
Sonny
Also any advice on other programs beside Imgburn?

DVD Rebuilder Pro does produce ISO output, although there have been problems with it on and off in the past. You can create ISOs with Imgburn, which I would trust a lot more. That said, I use Imgburn in build mode to burn straight to disc and never have problems. For me, the need to create ISO output has always been over-rated. Rebuilder will burn with Imgburn if it is installed.
All the Pro version really offers is the ability to do the same types of manipulation you can do in Shrink - movie only etc. but from within the Rebuilder interface.
I am happy to use Shrink for re-authoring with No Compression, then Rebuilder to compress. I have even moved pretty much fulltime to using HCEnc 0.22, as the quality is virtually indistinguishable from CCE's at the normal bitrates involved, and often better as the bitrate gets lower.Read my blog here.

I've had no problems in using DVD Rebuilder Pro outputing to ISO images. I use CCE to encode. DVD Rebuilder Pro is the best bang for the buck!

DVD Rebuilder (Pro) offers better quality than DVD Shrink in almost all instances since it reencodes the video. I haven't used DVDShrink in over a year.
You can use HCenc instead of CCE for free. About the same quality - better in some instances.

You have to understand that DVDRebuilder itself does not encode the dvd - DVDRB is an interface that pulls many of the tools needed together in one place. The results are only as good as the encoder or transcoder you choose in the setup. CCE and HC are both very good encoders, as mentioned. But you can also choose other transcoders/encoders such as Quenc, Procoder, etc..

Loyal customer since the $15 beginner price. Sometimes the only software to encode episodic material without quality loss.
Definitely not the fastest. If you want speed, look elsewhere.
The free trial will tell you much, just won't do everything the pro will.
