  1. Hey there.

i have a lot of pictures and movie clips taken by my digital camera and want to bang it all onto 1 dvd with a menu and to view them on my standalone dvd player.

so far, i've only managed to find pure movie type applications only but none that allows jpegs also. is there any software that will help me put both pictures and movie lips with menu?

    thanks

Ulead DVD Movie Factory and Nero Vision Express produce excellent slideshows that allow mixing movie clips with still images, and you can even add your own background music

NVE even has animated menu items that play miniatures of the video it links to ...a nice touch.

IMO a great freeware app for doing exactly this is Slide Show Movie Maker. It lets you take jpgs and create avis with them, adding transitions, text, Ken Burns (panning and zooming as mentioned above), music, and creates a high quality slideshow. I would highly recommend it. I have made several slideshows on dvd and have been very happy with the results. I can send you a test vid or some screenshots if you want!

Great feedback. Do ProShow Gold or Slide Show Movie Maker support subpixel motion interpolation? Neither site is clear on this. I'll give them a try.

Subpixel motion interpolation (anti-alias motion) gives that smooth slow motion pan-zoom rather than abrupt pixel to pixel jumps.

Good question... I'm not sure but like I said I'll send you a vid.. maybe you can tell from that about SSMM. Obviously you have to remember too that the video quality will be affected by which video codec you choose and the settings for it too.
