Nero freezing at 99% wtf

Alright, on about 10 burns, nero has froze at like 99% or 100% ... and the dvds woln't play nor my audio cds... I have Nero 6.. is there a patch or something I should get? i just unistalled it and tryign it again, it only happens sometimes, and i'm away from the comp playing my ps2 gmae and it'll do it.. not like i'm multi tasking or something

You might want to try downgrading to v5.5x. I used to have this problem which appeared quite suddenly. I had v6.x installed and it burned fine for months, then it had the problem you describe. After downgrading, every burn has worked perfectly well ever since. I've read about others having the same problem with version 6 - it appears to be quite unstable for some.

probably so lol.. i'll get it in a few. I can't eject the cd from where nero froze until i restart, but i've got some downloads going that I'm afriad i woln't be able to connect back to the server if I restart... i'll get back with ya in a bit with those

Your problem sounds oddly familiar. If I am making a copy of a disk that I authored the same problem occurs. Only a reboot will free the disk. I use Ritek G04 and burn hundreds with no problem unless I try a disk to disk copy. A burn from the hard drive will work with no problems...ever!!

Sounds like simple IDE channel issues. Burner and reader CANNOT share a channel. Sometimes not even the same master controller.

I have had this problem occur since upgrading to v 6.3.1.17. It happens randomly, It has happened while burning audio cd's and burning cd's from nero image files.

Media has been strictly HP cd-r 52X 80 min. / 700mb bought last week

IDE channel is not the reason for my situation as the drive is isolated
