  1. I've seen and read the tutorial on the MediaChance website, tried making my own and followed it step by step. The difference is that i've got only 1 subtitle stream, while their tutorial made it for 2 subtitle streams.

I got lost after the point when the tutorial inserts the VM commands. Since i had only 1 subtitle stream, i had to match the VM commands to make it somehow work. I think I got my VM commands all wrong so I'm not exactly sure how to debug it.

Anyway, I was able to burn it onto a disc then I found out the menu doesn't work properly. Selecting any option on the menu doesn't change the video at all. The video just played with its default settings.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If this is a stupid post, tell me bluntly so I'm not wasting anybody's time

If it is stupid, could anybody suggest an easier way to create the menu selection for multiple audio and subtitles?

    Thank you in advance!

(my head is spinning. been at it half the day.)

  2. It is not a stupid post.

The easiest way to select a subtitle is to create a button for each subtitle on a VTS (not VMG) menu. Example:

    English
    Spanish
    Kentuckian

    Play

Right click on each button and find the menu item link ->set subtitle->subtitle 1 (or 2..3..4...5)

Then create a button "Play" and link this to the movie. Select the subtitle button first then select "Play".

Forget about VM commands until you feel comfortable with DVD Lab Pro (DLP). Then we can dive further into complex VM programming that will make your head spin.

As humans we like to count starting at one. For programmers they like to start at zero....Thus examples in VM will access the first subtitle as 'zero' (0) versus one (1).

    Last word of advice:
Make sure your subtitles do not cross chapters. The start and end times must be between chapters in your movie.

  3. oh,

The same approach can be done for the audio stream. Notice the button links available to you.....
