  1. Im trying to copy a 1 hour dvd(not copyrighted) to vhs. I have everything hooked up as normal for the usage of playing dvds on the tv or playing the vcr tapes on tv(which both works). However when i push record on the vcr while the dvd is playing my vcr is not recording it, i was thinking it was becuase it needs input (av input on the back of my vcr is empty) from the dvd player or the tv or that it cant do it because they are working off different video channels.

Any help in this would be great as I have cords everywhere and have became confused.

Depending on your vcr you most likely have to use your remote control and change the vcr to video 1 or 2 or aux in,if you still have the manual it will tell you where on the remote to do this. The vcr doesnt record off channels when using video in,you have to plug the cables from audio/video out from your dvd player to audio/video in on your vcr.

  3. Actually, it doesn't matter if they work on different channels, but your output from the DVD needs to go to the input of the VCR or else you'll record nothing, as you found out.

  5. Make sure you can see it on the tv too.

  6. You don't need to be able to see it on the TV to record it, but that's helpful to monitor the recording process.
