  1. Happy Holidays everyone. I am having trouble burning DVD's. I have a DVR ( JVC ) which we record childrens programs. When we play them in the MiniVan The DVD player does not recognize the disc. Try ripping the DVD from the DVR w/ MACRIPPER AND DVD BACK UP. Coping the disc ( DVR ) with Toast Popcorn and DVD2oneX. Still no luck any advise would help.

  2. You could try seeing if dvd you made plays in another dvd player.
I've read some of the portables are picky about different media.

IIRC, isn't there a "finishing" step that needs to be done in order to play discs created in such a beastie on a "regular" DVD player?

Seems to be a common problem. I think I remember something about timecode markers that those standalone recorders insert into the video stream. The program MPEG Streamclip was designed to convert those type of streams. I would try opening the standalone's VOBs with Streamclip and using that to convert back to MPEG. Then toss the new MPEG into Toast's Video tab and burn as DVD. Worth a shot.
