  1. I am new here and I really need your advise please. I captured my son birthday video clip and try to burn into DVD but got problem. The problem is it is burned succesful with DVD+RW but when I try with DVD+R it is failed. I did try to make a copy from the DVD+RW (that is OK) into DVD+R and got same problem (which is failed). I can not remember exact error but something like "can not end-to-end disc".
I run Window XP with 2.6 GHz and 512 MB. I have this system for about a year and it is OK until now. Please help. Thanks.

  2. what make & model is your DVD Writer?
Do you have Norton Antivirus 2004? if so disable it during the burn process.

It sounds like a media problem. What brand of dvd are you using? It would be helpful to fill in your computer specs that way it's easier to help solve your problem.

What other software are you using besides NERO?

  5. My burn failed with Nero too - or should I say it looked ok on the software when burning to Ritek blank DVD-R but the DVD disk created is not recognised by Sony or Panasonic standalone players. This is my first attempt with Nero and I'm totally confused. It's as if the disk isnt finalised - because it will play back on the PC DVD re-writer.I thought a DVD-R burned on my PC DVD-writer should play on a standalone player.
I must be missing something basic-Help?

what is the model number of your liteon burner? it's a known fact that LITEON burners prefer DVD+R MEDIA than DVD-R MEDIA. never heard of platinum +R media. is that TDK? what is the exact media code? check by using DVDINFO PRO or DVD IDENTIFIER. you can download them from the tools section to your left of this site.

  9. LITE-ON DVD+RW LDW-401S. LITE-ON DVD+RW LDW-401S supported DVD+R. Platinim is the name of media (just like TDK, Maxwell...). Media code is 001 (i got this info on the disc that i was able to burn). When i put blank disc it did not give me media code. Thanks
