    After authoring DVD, I cannot pause the DVD on any of my 4 standalone DVD players. I am using Adobe Encore to author DVD. No menu, 1 timeline, and no chapters. Is there a setting within Encore to select/deselect pause capability on playback?

    I know when you transcode a DVD you can take setting out. So the setting must also be in the software you are using to author the DVD as well. try DVD-LAD or TMPG DVD author.
