  1. ive been using dvd shrink to completely rip my dvds. but im a newb and i see dvd decrypter seems to be the prefered ripper. thx

  2. nothing wrong with it, I use it for all of my ripping. On a couple of rare occasions (with bad discs with scratches or poor burns), Shrink would choke on the disc. I used Decryptor and it was able to retrieve the data. Other than being slightly worse at bad discs, it works fine.

    Ditto. Some seem to regularly rip with Decrypter, shrink with Shrink - I've never understood why.

  4. I always use shrink, waste of time using an independent ripper first.

    True, however, if your four year old tries to sand your hardwood floors with the Harry Potter DVD, then you'll need dvd decrypter to rip it.
