  1. After giving up on my AIW 9600, I am now having a different problem with my Winfast Tv 2000 card. I get color switching. For example Skin tones will jump from a healthy color of redy flesh color to a jondis looking yellow color. It happens with all the color though. Dark reds will jump to light reds. This happens every 5-10 seconds. Does anyone have any potential solutions for me. I am hoping i can just adjust something in the settings. These are videos taped off of tv. In case that matters. Could this potentially be a driver Problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the same problem with live video? If so it sounds more like a bad connection or a problem with the card. Doesn't really sound like a driver problem. You could try changing your connections and reseating the card.

EDIT: Another possibility could be related to false Macrovison, although that usually causes light and dark flashes, still; https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=242499

Increasing or sometimes decreasing the signal level from the VCR may help, also. (A video amp or an attenuator)

  3. With live TV there is no problem. I tried to feed the VCR through the coax instead of the rca plugs and got the same problem. I don't know what reseating the card means, How could i do that. Also how do you increase or decrease levels of a VCR, and where do i get a video amp or attenuator. Sorry i have so many questions i just am very new to this and am getting very frustrated with this new computer. Thanks for your help thus far.

Do you capture TV via your VCR? If so, fine, then it's not your VCR's fault, or cables etc. I'd say you're trying to capture a macrovision-protected video. In which case you need an older driver that by-passes that crap.

I have a Winfast capture card too, and am thrilled with the results it gives me! I use the old WDM 1.08 driver, I'm sure you can still find it around...

  5. I have run the cable through the VCR and there is no problem. Crystal Clear. So how would i download and install old drivers for this card?

If your capture of live TV isn't a problem, ignore the reseating card idea. (Turn off computer, unplug card and replug. Sometimes it may not be all the way plugged in.) I would try a different cable, just in case.

If your video signal is too high, over 1vdc, that can cause problems with some cards. If it is too low, also problems. A video amplifier can raise the signal level. An attenuator can lower it. I have both, bought from Radio Shack. Generally a high level is more likely to cause Macrovision problems. You might be better off searching on Google for a Macrovision blocker. Don't pay to much for them. Mine was about $20US. A TBC is much better, but expensive.

Still, your problem with color changes doesn't sound like a Macrovison problem. Borrow another VCR and see it that helps.

Also, you might try what NamPla suggested. I'm not familiar with that particular card.

    Sorry RawSkillz, I been away...

    ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/WDM/NVIDIA_WDM_1.08.exe

This link should work for you.

Make sure you remove your old wdm drivers first (Add/Remove Programs). I would then reboot, then install the new (old) driver, then reboot again.

I have no problems with the rare macro'd tapes I try to capture. Nice clean captures, too!

    Good luck.

(BTW, I recommend using VirtualVCR for capturing).

  9. Well I installed the new drivers and the same problem, So i suppose after about six months of messing around I will break down and buy the SIMA Video adapter. Does anyone have any recomendations about what one to use, and a good inexpensive place to buy them? Thanks
