I've got a DVD-R that has several TV shows burned onto it (public domain stuff) that I got from someone else. I know it will play in my player, but my brother in law in Ireland wants to see this disc too, and I told him I'd try to make him a copy and send it to him.

I am wondering how I can tell if the disc is region 1 or region 0 though. When I put it into the DVD drive on my computer it just auto-starts. I don't have any other region discs, so I am not sure what would happen if I put another region-disc in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if you made it - it is region free (i'm 99% sure - unless you set a region code)

I didn't make it, I got it from someone else at the beginning of the summer, and he moved to California at the end of this summer.

Is there a way I can check to make sure? I'd hate to ship this thing all the way to the UK/Ireland just to have my brother in law find out it won't work. If I can tell that it won't work, I can try to change it or make it region 0 or something.
