I just recently purchased a Tivo Series 2 unit with the 40 hour recording option. What size hd comes in these units?
And is it very hard to upgrade the hd to a larger one?
And is there anyway to see how much record space/time you have left on the unit?

Here's a great source of info for Tivo upgrading:

The second sticky has a link for an online interactive guide for upgrading your drive. It's not hard if you are comfortable with swapping drives and good at following instructions.
You probably have a 30GB drive. I recently upgraded my drive with 120GB and I get 140 hours basic and 40 hours best quality.
Tivo does not tell you how much space/time you have left. If you turn on Suggestions then you can get a feel for how much time is left by looking in the Now Playing list and seeing how many suggestions are at the bottom of the list.
