  1. Im not sure which forum this would go on, but I will assume this one.

Is there a software out there that can separate tracks in audio songs?

Meaning, I have a bunch of "metal" cd's from the late 80's and early 90's where I love the music but cant stand the voice track. Is there a program where I can load up a song, a remove the voice track so that only the music is left?

Im sure such a thing exists, but my various google searches havent been fruitless thusfar.

    Thanks for the help.

Something like that sounds incredibly difficult. I think you would need professional level software and somewhat of an expertise in music production and engineering to pull it off. Just learn the solos on your guitar instead. I'll play the bass. We can jam!

Nope, once a CD gets mixed all the tracks are combined as one.

WOOOO. All we need is one of those pesky drummers.

Except I think my coworkers may find that a tad bit noisy lol

I wanted this to listen to on my earphones at work is all.

Ah well. It was worth a shot.

Thanks to the both of you who answered

in some cases it can be done, but don't get your hopes up.

you can try the Vocal Remover from AnalogX, it'll work about as well as any long-form method you'll find around.

" AnalogX Vocal Remover works on the same principles that the hardware removers do - that in most instances vocals are equally mixed in both channels, and can identified and therefore removed by simply changing the phase on one channel by 180 degrees. While this won't remove vocals in all instances, it does work in many cases, and can sometimes be used to remove bass or breakbeat sections as well, which I find to be GREAT for sampling! Depending on the effects used on the vocals, sometimes the reverb or ambience of the vocals is left."

you need an audio editor that can use DX plugins.

Tracks can still be stripped out. That's how the karaoke feature works on a lot of systems.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
