music enhancing software

does anyone know of any music enhancing software that will allow one to do different things with a song.

i remember there used to be an app, i thought it was acid pro but i think my memory may be playing tricks on me, that allowed you to import a song and you could alter the song so that it sounded like it was played in a concert hall, sung by Gregorian monks, all sorts of really cool things; i had put meatloaf's "you took the words right out of my mouth" through it and made it sound like Gregorian monks in a concert hall and it sounded awesome.

any ideas?
