  1. Hey people,

I want 2 rip a MPEG2/VOB file I have from student camp! So I can make chapters!
I'm using Canopus ProCoder v1.50, because that's the only program which won't damage the quality! All other programs that I use mess it up all the time!

But.... there's only one problem with Canopus ProCoder v1.50! When I select te videofile 2 trim it, the bar below the preview can be used to select the start and the end, but whenever I place it at the part where I want it 2 start, the friggin thing goes all the way back to the start before I have the time to select "In" or "out"!! Pretty frustrating, I've tried a lot of things and moves, but nothing helps! Am I the only one with that problem?

Can anybody help me! Is there a plug-in 2 download 4 this!? plz.... really need help with this!

  2. same thing happens to me when selecting in/out points..you can enter a time code and it will stick - enter approximate time then use the up/down arrows to scrub through the file to get to your in/out frames...

however, if you have an mpeg file and just want to trim it, I would suggest mpeg video wizard (or video re do although I don't know that one) so that your mpeg does not re-encode..using procoder to trim an mpeg file w/o needing the encoding or transcoding will take a long time and possible reduce the video quality..other tools can trim mpegs without re-encoding..much quicker and no quality loss..then, author as planned (chapter points, menus, etc.)

  3. Thx mate! It's getting better at the moment! I have only one problem which Canopus ProCoder v1.50 can't "understand", the time info in incorrect, it thinks that de first MPEG file durates 14"36, but it is like 7 minutes more! The second MPEG has a duration of 14"36, so it won't trim the movie beyond the 14"36 point in the first MPEG, currently I'm downloading a trial version of mpeg video wizard, and I hope that will go better.

Thx again 4 ur time and usefull advise!
