Does anyone have one of these puppies? The feature list claims USB 2.0 support/transfers, yet I have yet to get it do anything other than USB 1.1 (400kb/s) on any of my 3 computers. Both desktops are running a Gigabyte GA-7N400-L mobo with "Hi-Speed" USB ports; one is XP Pro SP1a and the other 2000 Server with SP4. My laptop has 3 USB 2.0 ports and is running XP Pro SP1a. Regardless of what computer/port I plug this mp3 player into, "Hi-Speed device connected to a none Hi-Speed hub" pops up and transfers are slow as dirt.

I know my ports work properly @ USB 2.0 speeds since I have a Lexar JumpDrive 2.0 Pro (Hi-Speed) and transfers to/from it are in the 2600kb/s+ range (and XP doesn't complain that a "Hi-Speed device connected to a non-Hi-Speed hub" when I plug it in).

I even bought a replacement Belkin USB 2.0 certified cable. No difference.

So, I called RCA a few weeks back and the support person said "download the latest version of the firmware and it should work" and I explained to him "the latest version is 1.42 and my player is using 1.42" - he didn't say much after that except a "ok be right back." He came back and said to wait for the next firmware update. Well, the last update was July 8th. It's now October 28th. 4+ months, and no new updates to fix/enable a pretty prominent feature of this player... wtf?

Is it really me, or is RCA lacking? Has anyone else used this thing at true USB 2.0 speeds?

Sounds like, for a while anyhow, you'll have to deal with "slow as dirt" xfers. Seems they were not totally honest in their product offering ... hmmm, go figure.
