  1. I have a home Video on DVDs from my friend which I want to copy. It is on DVD+R. My home DVD player can only play DVD-R. So I use Nero 6 to do a disc copy and use a DVD-R disc on my DVD writer. The copy completed with no error. However my DVD player cannot read the disc. I use my computer to read the copied DVD, it cannot read the files on the DVD. So I had a bad copy. I know that there is nothing wrong with my writer because I did the samethig on another DVD and everything works.
I tried to do the copy again but same problem. Nero reports no error.

Any idea how I can be sure to get a good copy before I try again. DVD-R are not very cheap. It costs money for earch try.

Rip the DVD+R, then burn it to a DVD-RW. Always use a DVD-RW until you are certain you have a good copy, then burn a DVD-R. DVD-RWs are reusable which keeps your costs down,

Try using DVDdecrypter. Rip as Iso, then burn.

  4. Or, if you don't have a DVD-RW sitting around to try it out on, you could mount an ISO after you've created it using something like Alcohol 120%. I do it all the time to test out authored DVD's to make sure they work correctly as I'd like them without wasting writing DVD's.
