  1. Using ffmpegX 0.0.9p, i have installed all the other components fine, BUT when i select mpeg2enc on my desktop, add my osx password, click install in the self-installer, it disappears and i and the encode dialog/window appears. I quit the program....and then when i start ffmpegX up again, it once again tells me that mpeg2enc isn't installed(this happens every time no matter how many times i try to install mpeg2enc). I have also tried the "manual way" explained in another thread, and have also tried repairing permissions.....any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Norbert

  2. Check if the size of the mpeg2enc file located in /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX is 188524 bytes.

  3. size is 244,832 bytes....

  4. oops....my mistake....its 1,196,360 bytes (previous was for mp2enc)

  5. Then it is not the correct file.

  6. This is where i'm getting my version of mpeg2enc:
    http://mjpeg.sourceforge.net/MacOS/
    link towards bottom...osx.cvs.tar.gz

When i expand the file, the mpeg2enc is 1,196,360 bytes...

Where can i get the correct versiomn?

    Thanks,
    Norbert

  7. this is the one i am using as well. i have used the nightly cvs build, and the direct link which is like file size 185k. neither seems to install correctly. option clicking the mpeg2enc link drops the file to the desktop, but doesn't set the right permissions. this is why I think people are getting tripped up with this and the real-libs.

  8. No, it is not the tar.gz link, it is the link named "mpeg2enc" at the bottom of the page.
Control-click it to download on desktop, and select it for install no matter the permissions.

  9. That worked...thank you very much. So what is that "other" mpeg2enc in the .tar.gz for?

    Norbert

  10. Another version, not meant for use in ffmpegX.
