Media For My Philips MX3600D

My friend has a Philips MX3600D Set Top DVD Player but he can't seem to find any media that the player likes. He's tried some cheapy brands from Frys but nothing. I tried searching here but couldn't really find much. But does anyone know what brand is best compatible with his player?

I have the Philips MX3900D. I recently purchased an NEC 3500 and a 50 pack of Ritek G05 discs. I have backed up around 10 DVD's on them and they all play perfectly. I would think the 3600 and 3900 would be quite similar to each other so maybe he could try those. I purchased mine from Newegg, the Ridata 8x media is what I bought.
