    I've got a Sony MiniDV HC30 and I want to know if there is any possible way to download a movie to a PC through the USB cable.

    The USB port is usually for still shots, not video. The 1394/Firewire is for video. Firewire cards are cheap nowdays, even if you may have a laptop. I wouldn't even bother trying with USB for this purpose.
