I'm trying to rip a DVD from a friend to my PC so I can re-author it. The problem is that the VOB files that I get after ripping have a timing error. This is very strange. What happens is that when I tried to run, edit or re-encode them I get a time diferent then the video has. For exemple, if I try to play the VOB in a VOB player it tells me that it has 30 seconds when I know it has 40 minutes. When I try to re-author the DVD the softwares show me only 30 seconds of the movie. I tried a LOT of softwares for ripping and re-encoding and the results are all the same. I think the problems comes from the way the DVD was recorded. It was recorded in a APEX standalone DVD recorder. Any help is apreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I allready tried those two. It rips well and I can play the VOBs/MPGs in the PC. It's only that when playing, the software shows the time incorectly. It shows like 30 seconds, but the players still plays when the time ends. The problem is that I can't re-author it, because the softwares just see the first 30 second part. Very strange. I tried to TMPGenc too, but it happens the same. It only see 30 seconds of video.
