  1. ive been using virtualdub to convert the sound from avi files seperatly, then using tmpge to convert the file to vcd. sometimes this works fine with great results but sometimes the file it creates comes up unknown 'windows doesnt recognise this type of file'. i always use exactly the same settings so am confused as to why this is happening.

does anyone else experience this, is it normal, am i missing something?

  2. Can you let me know a little more ? Are you using the Tmpgenc templates for VCD ? Can you post some screen shots of what happens when it doesn't work ? What filename extensions does tmpgenc produce on files that dont work.

  3. i am using tmpgenc templates for vcd, i always use the same settings for every file i convert, sometimes it works sometimes not. when i try to open the file i get 'windows cannot open this file'. tmpgenc always says successful on the results log, ive just burnt the file to cd anyway but it tends to freeze up. would reinstalling tmpgenc be worth a try?

  4. Reinstalling wouldn't hurt but I don't think there's anything wrong with it as it works. What are you trying to open up the files with ?
