Recently bought a NEC 2500A dvd burner.
It is recognized by the system - Windows 2000 pro.
But Dvd Shrink does not see it when it comes time to burn.
I am thinking there must be a driver that I need.
A Pioneer 105 has no problem.
    The burning program is Nero.
Don't see this addressed in previous posts.

    Any insight gratefully received.

    Thanks,
    Patwig

What version of Nero? You may need to update it to the latest (there are free updates).

Or use DVD Decryptor instead of nero.

  4. Try a different burning program or an updated version.

I didn't need to load any driver when I installed my NEC 2500 burner.

    Using Nero 5.5.
    DVD Shrink 3.2.
The Nero was a cheap OEM, and as a stand-alone, has no DVD burning capabilities. So I was surprised by a successful burn when I first tried DVD Shrink with the Pioneer burner, and had come to expect more of same with any burner.
Yes, maybe now is the time to spring for the big bucks version of Nero.

I don't seem to be able to burn from DVD Decryptor.

    Thanks,
    p

  8. Nero that comes with a bought drive is not the same as buying Nero seperately.... while it will do everything the seperate version does it is coded to only work with the drive it came with.

    Well anyway.
I now see that I can open Nero, and burn dvd that way. I coulda swore
that feature was not previously enabled.
I had been surprised that Dvd Shrink had originally found Nero and burned with it, since I didn't think I could use it for that.
Now I also see that I can burn ISO with Decryptor, from within Dvd Shrink.
So I have lots of options,
    but wait.
I am using my original burner, which had no problems!
will hafta try out the nec, no?
    thanks
