Who can forget CaddieShack, Back to School and many other great films Rodney was in.... He will be missed.

    http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/10/05/obit.dangerfield.ap/index.html

"Rodney Dangerfield, the bug-eyed comic whose self-deprecating one-liners brought him stardom in clubs, television and movies and made his lament "I don't get no respect" a catchphrase, died Tuesday. He was 82."

One of my favorite lines from CaddyShack - at the 'dinner party in the main clubhouse - Rodney says to Mrs Schmels.

"Boy I bet your were something before electricity ... wanna make $20.00 bucks the easy way"

    Hello,

Never watched his stuff but it's always sad when a big hollywood name leaves us.

    Hello,

Nope, at least not the whole thing. I may have seen some of it on TV. Just not my type of comedy I guess.

    Hello,

    NO!

It's just not for me. Besides, I'm not a golf fan, even lampooning it isn't fun.

Even in death, he does not get the respect he deserves.

He was truely a great comedian.

One of the best - he'll be missed!

His only flaw was that he boosted Roseanne Barr/Arnold's career :P
Though they had a great comic act together.

Yoda313 - Caddyshack isn't a movie that can be shown on TV...they'd have to chop it up to pieces, and it loses all it's humor.

You need to see it with all the bad language, nudity and crudness intact, else it's all taken out of context.
And the last thing you need to be is a golf fan to enjoy it 8)
It's rich high society snobs colliding with the low-life low-class obnoxious Dangerfield.

Two very different worlds/ cultures colliding making up some extremely funny situations.

Avoid Caddyshack 2...as it has nothing to do with the first and doesn't even have the same cast, other than Chevy Chase, who was the least important characher in the original. A very lame attempt for the studios to cash in on the success of the original.

We also lost another legend this week - Janet Leigh (most famous as the murdered shower victim in Psycho .
    Jamie Lee Curtis' mom.

It's sad he passed, but I never really liked his work. I liked Caddyshack, but no the scenes with him in it. I guess I just have a different sense of humo(ou)r than he did.

Some classics (as denoted on CNN)

    # "I tell ya I get no respect from anyone. I bought a cemetery plot. The guy said, 'There goes the neighborhood!' "

    # "When I was born, I was so ugly that the doctor slapped my mother."

    # "When I started in show business, I played one club that was so far out, my act was reviewed in Field and Stream."

    # "Every time I get in an elevator, the operator says the same thing to me: 'Basement?' "

    # "When my parents got divorced, there was a custody fight over me. ... and no one showed up."

    # "I never got girls when I was a kid. One girl told me, 'Come on over, there's nobody home.' I went over. There was nobody home."

    # "When I was 3 years old, my parents got a dog. I was jealous of the dog, so they got rid of me."

    # "When we got married, the first thing my wife did was put everything under both names -- hers and her mother's."

    # "With my wife, I don't get no respect. The other night there was a knock on the front door. My wife told me to hide in the closet."

    # "With my wife, I get no respect. I fell asleep with a cigarette in my hand. She lit it."

I just NOW found out about this. MAN that sucks....he was a true legend. He swore more off stage than on stage too....gotta respect a comedian for that.
It's a shame his money hungry wife was WAITING for this day.

    Ummm.... she made him happy

I can't figure women out. They put on makeup for three hours. They wear things that make them smaller. Things that make them bigger. Then they meet a man and they want truth.

As far as your autograph, well ..I've always wanted that ..you know, the woman who braves OT single-handedly on a daily basis and still comes back. All without losing her self-respect or decency ..at least I don't think you've lost it yet . Pretty damned admirable babyboo

And that turbocharged weedeater is just a rumor ...
