  1. I want to DVD author some DVD-AVI files that I captured from an analog tape that I recorded with a Hi8 NTSC Analog Sony Camcorder. I want to burn the DVD at the maximum quality possible. I plan to use one DVDR5 for one hour of video and set the bitrate to 9000kbps. Is this bitrate excessive? Can I use less bitrate and fit more than one hour and still not sacrifice on video quality? (given the fact the original video is a Hi8 footage)
Also, regarding audio settings, I plan to use either 320kbps MP3 or PCM. I assume PCM is better quality, is it worth it? (the original Hi8 video is Stereo, 16bits, 48khz).
    Thanks.

calculate how much you can fit on a dvd-5, www.videohelp.com/calc

you cannot use mp3, only mp2/mpa, ac3 and pcm. read lordsmurfs audio guide for some info about quality, https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=445&howtoselect=3;56#445

and this is not dvd authoring. it is more conversion related. moving you.
