Authoring DVD frm AVi files using DVDAuthor

Hi Experts,

I know the procedure of converting the avi files to dvd using DVDAuthor which includes converting them into mpg first using ffmpeg and then creating a VOB structure using dvdauthor.

But what i want is that without using this ffmpeg conversion , can I directly give use my avi files to convert them into dvd using dvdauthor?

Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

No. DVD Author is only an authoring tool, and requires compliant assets. It cannot convert the files for you.

DVD Styler uses DVD Author as it's authoring engine, and can convert AVI files as well.

If your DVD player can play DivX files, as many do these days, you may be able to just burn the AVI files to a data DVD, using ImgBurn, and play these.

Depends on the player.

Try a different tool...like DVD Flick. Or DVD Styler, like Gun1inger suggested.
