  1. Hi guys,

I'm using the composite video input of my TV tuner card (Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T) to capture old video footage from my analogue handyam. The capture program I'm using is virtualdub.

Although it is working the captures i'm ending up with are less than ideal. Under the video/format menu I can't seem to select any resolution greater than 353x288. When I do I get the following error "Error 418: Unsupported video format".

This card uses a Conexant CX23881 chip which can supposedly provide captures up to 768x576. Also I've read somewhere that virtualdub only works with VFW drivers not WDM drivers. The capture driver than came with my TV card I believe are WDM drivers. However, as i've said the capture does seem to work so I don't quite seem to understand these issues.

If there are any guru's out there with suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying this for a few weeks now and it's starting to get frustrating.

    Cheers

    Hi dudds,

PM lordsmurf or capmaster and see if they'll take a look - they're both well clued up on capturing...

Or check out lordsmurf's site (www.digitalfaq.com) - there may be something there.

    Good luck...

Are you using Virtualdub or Virtualdubmod? V-dubmod is meant for WDM driver cards. Might help also.
